Chapter 91

David's schedule consisted of the following: early morning workout with his wife, breakfast with his family, rehearsal, lunch, more rehearsal, dinner, time to unwind with his family, shower, then bed. After he went to bed, well, that was up in the air according to the whims of his lovely wife. Brie was all about structure, and she did her damnedest to keep at least her family on a schedule. The occasional deviation was fine, but everyone needs structure. David didn't mind. Being on the road was about structure too.
Brie's life over the past four years had become a total pain in the ass because she wasn't working, she was home all the time with little to nothing to do, and every time it looked like she was getting some structure in her life, something came along and fucked that all to hell. Finally, structure was taking hold and she could breathe.
The other wives saw what Brie was doing and asked how the hell she did it. "David let's me enforce a schedule. If you want more organization in your families, then talk to your husband’s", she said with a shrug.

That went over like a box of rocks. Dan was game, to a point, as was John, but Mike was being difficult. He and David talked about it. "Seriously, bro, how do you do it?"

"I just do. I know how important it is to her to have that structure in her life. Far be it for me to fuck with that", David said.

"But don't you feel like your whipped?"

"Pussy whipped?"

"Yeah."

"No, not at all. All she does is keep me on a schedule. If we were on the road, it wouldn't be any different."

Mike sighed. "I just can't let Tina have that kind of control. She'll become a time Nazi."

David shrugged, "Then I don't know what to tell you other than talk to your old lady about that, brother. I can't help you."

--------------

"My conviction is stronger today as I fight to uncover your sacred lie, and the fear isn't going away as the soldiers still die! Let your followers know that their lives have been sold for the good of your sacred lie, for the truth to be told and the plan to unfold we must start asking why?

Don't you know the war is far from over now? What a stumbling block we've fallen over now, as our brothers die defending no one, the war is far from over now! David believed that with all his heart and soul. They may have been winning the battles, but the war was far from over, and too many people were suffering for it. He didn't care about himself. His wife was suffering, his children were suffering, his brothers in the band were suffering, their families were suffering. And that was just those closest to him.

"Give us a moment of peace in our lifetime, a moment of peace in our lifetime, give us a moment of peace in your lifetime, a moment of peace right...

NOW! Don't you know the war is far from over now? What a stumbling block we've fallen over now, as our brothers die defending no one, the war is far from over now

Don't you know the war is far from over now? What a stumbling block we've fallen over now, as our brothers die defending no one, the war is far from over now!"

When the song ended, David paused to look at his brothers. They all looked at him stunned. "What?"

"Where the hell has this man been?" Dan asked.

"What man?"

"The man that just sang that song", Mike said from behind his kit.

"I haven't gone anywhere. I've been right here in front of your faces for damn near four years."

"Then where did this sudden surge of passion come from?" John asked.

David shrugged. "I have no idea what you three are talking about, let's rehearse. Next one is Ten Thousand Fists."

The guys exchanged a look, shrugged, then Danny started playing. About sixteen counts in, John and Mikey joined him. Eight more counts and David belted, "Survivor! Survivor! One more God damned day when I know what I want, and my want will be considered tonight, Ah! Ah! Considered tonight ah! Ah! Just another day when all that I want will mark me as a sinner tonight, ah! Ah! I'm a sinner tonight, yeah!
People can no longer cover their eyes, if this disturbs you then walk away, you will remember the night you were struck by the sight of Ten Thousand Fists in the air!

That's what he missed. Seeing the crowd raise their fists high in the air when he screamed that. He was more than ready to see it again.
