"...Waiting, for you modern Messiah, to take away all the hatred, that darkens the light in your eye, Still awaiting, I!!!!" David sang, pouring every ounce of passion he had in his body into that song as they guys played. "Still awaiting, I!"
The music ended. "You haven't sang with that much passion since our last tour, David. What the fuck?", Dan asked.
"We've been stuck in this house and I've had shit going on, plus, I can't WAIT to get out there on that stage. The material to build it is being donated by different foundations in the area. We're also doing this as a fund raiser for the charities for those children who have been orphaned by the war."
"You've always been a sucker for the kids", Mike said.
"Fuck off, Mikey", David said with a smile. "Let's get back to work. What's the next one we were going to do? Isn't it 'Shout 2000'?"
John looked at the set list they'd written out. "Yep. 'Shout 2000'."
"Then start it off, boys"
The music began. David silently counted through the intro, then took a deep breath right before his cue. "Shout! Shout! Let it all out, these are the things I can do without, come on, I'm talking to you, so come on. Shout! Shout! Let it all out, these are the things I can do without, come on, I'm talking to you, so come on...
In violent times, you should have to sell your soul! In black and white, they really, really ought to know, those one trick mind, who took you for a working whore, kiss them goodbye, you shouldn't have to jump for joy, you shouldn't have to shout for joy..."
Still, nothing but passion. David poured his heart into those words, just like he would when they performed it. Just like he used to do.

The guys emerged from the studio a couple of hours later. They'd done all they were going to do for the day. It was time to be with their families. David went to talk to Brie. "Hey, baby, did you ever find a speaker for the rally?"
"Yeah, Deborah recommended this guy who's an amazing public speaker. He's done all kinds of things for the cause. He speaks at rallies all over the country and he usually cites your lyrics when he speaks. His name is Timothy Schmitt. I've listened to some of his recordings, and he's really good."
"Great. Does he know he's following us at this thing?"
"Yeah. I spoke to him while you were in rehearsal. He said you guys are going to be a tough act to follow."
He laughed. "Well, we're Disturbed. We're the biggest supporters of the cause. Of course it's going to be tough to follow us, but if he's half as good as you say he is, then, he'll do just fine."
